So-called bike builder Jerry Burrow, Ford Heights, IL.got me for $400.00 for a shifter I ordered for my custom FXDWG complete with clutch cable.

Originally it was going to cost $200.00. He said it would only take a couple of weeks. After a month he called and said he needed another $200.00. I figured it was going to be real nice, by a real craftsman, so I sent him more money. It took 3 months.

Not only did it not fit my bike but there was no cable either.Bad deal all around.

He lied a lot.If you want custom work done on or for you bike, never buy anything from Road Hawgs. He has no Idea if it will work or not.

First off Sir, when the request for a custom clutch shifter was made, the amount of fabrication was not completely disclosed to us and we could only go by information given at the time. Our shifter base price with a cable is 200.00 alone.

You had requested to have a shifter made utilizing a part that you had from a drag car, and this was no problem but a price can not be given to anyone for custom machine fabrication over a phone. When the part arrived it was oblivious that the fabrication needed would completely done by hand and take several hours. Most machine shop rates are around 85 an hour and at 200 additional , you were getting many free hours. Upon completion a clutch cable could be sent due to the fact that "your" car part sent does not utilize a motorcycle cable and you were advised that a cable would have to be made by a cable manufacturing company.

As to the fact that this shifter does not fit , it is a custom made piece , made from the specs and pictures given. We would gladly try and tweak it for you but you would need to send it back which you never did. You being 1750 miles away makes it hard for us to simply come by and work on it.

I do apologize you feel somewhat ripped off but we still at this point would try and accommodate you and try to make it work for you.

Regards

Jb
